Reply to this It is important to know your budget per month?Single room, one bed room or whatever you require? Please provide more information on the type of the house you would wish to rent. I will furnish you with other necessities which are a must like safety, water, electricity and accessibility.
Reply to this I am wanting at least a two bedroom house. One that has electricity, running water would be nice. It would also be nice to have a security gate with possibly a watchman. My monthly budget is still pending. Thank you so much for your answer and hope to hear from you again.
Reply to this Hi Jimmyt,
From your information yes you can get an apartment two bedroom house, with a living room, kitchen, running water, electricity, bathroom, toilet, balcony, packing space, perimeter wall with guards at the gate. This house cost Ksh. 25,000/= per month or $400. The cost include all the services paid for; electricity, water, security and garbage collection fee.
The house is not furnished though can be furnished at some extra cost.Telephone services can also be done for also some extra cost though mobile phone services are more cost effective than the landlines services.
Please i need to know how long you going to stay? The longer you stay then the cost might be reviewed before the final agreement.
Note this is not the final option.
Reply to this Thankyou for your responce . I am going to stay for sereral years.
Reply to this Hi jimmyt,
Fine if you are going to stay for several years i am sure as it is in kenyan or E.African business culture (Bargaining) you might get a few shillings or dollars reduced for you.Just when you are ready let me know.
For your information i stayed in Kisumu from 2000-2005 researching on Development of Community & Landscape based Tourism Products.I enjoyed each and every moment of my stay.
The post election violence in Kenya affected the infrastructure and livelihood of Kisumu but the situation is returning to normal. The famous Kibuye market is slowly picking up,Dunga beach fish market is also picking up, clubs and restaurants are warming up the likes of Grand Kimwa, Laker's, Octopusy clubs .Generally things are moving on the right directin after appointment of Raila as prime minister and the formation of a coaliation government. Hopefully after the return of the prime minister from medical check up in Germany next week they will visit Kisumu with the president.
The visit will boost the morale of the residents.
