will I need a letter from my GP stating my asthma inhaler is a prescribed medication?
HI there
Wondering if anybody out there has been in this situation. I am about to embark on a round-the-world trip and not having been outside of Europe before I\'m a bit nervous!
I suffer from mild asthma but still need to carry an inhaler with me at all times and I was just wondering whether this could cause me a problem when going through the scans at the airports or even in some countries where they may not recognise it is a prescribed medication???
Is anybody out there in the same situation and if so have you encountered any problems at all? Do you think I should ask my doctor to write a letter for me just in case?
Any advice highly appreciated!!
Many thanks in advance
Maria

Reply to this Hi there,
If I were you, i'd definately make sure I have a letter from my GP regarding the medication you take for your Asthma as well as an extra prescription for it (incase you run out), I'm a asthmatic too (from Oz) and made sure I had a letter for all the medications I'm on as well as prescriptions for them, no-one at the airports/customs (not even been stopped at customs actually) has asked me about any medication in my luggage so far, and I've been around Europe, partly by bus parly raill/air and had no problems, but just to be on the safe side get the letter from your GP, to put your mind at rest..
Happy travelling.
