Quandary on travel gadget - do I go for an ipod or an i touch?

Just about to buy myself an ipod and confused as to the best option! Should I go for the nano, a proper ipod or an i touch? Or is there another mp3 that might serve me better?

I'm thinking that I'll need to think about storage, battery life etc - anyone got any advice?

We're thinking of purchasing a 160G Ipod (the regular kind with the wheel thingy) just because of the large memory and by now, you'd think all the kinks have been worked out.
I do like the way the Itouch looks...very funky....and it might be good if you plan on watching movies on it too (I know the screen is small but its better than nothing).
I wouldnt buy the nano.....too small....you might lose it!

The Apple website does a good comparison of all the different iPod options which helps you find the right one given what you need and want out of it.

If you have a lot of music in your collection (I mean, A LOT) then the iPod classic is your best bet.

Do you like to listen to music when you exercise or go for a run? The iPod Shuffle is the best for that.

Want a really small and thin player, but still want to watch videos? iPod Nano is your pick.

Can't afford to pay for the expensive AT&T iPhone plan, but want the iPhone features? iPod Touch is the answer.

hmmm I'm betting on the iTouch, so you can view videos on the go (and like livinglife said, the screen is bigger than the usual ipod), worldguy23 has a point on going to the apple website to help you make your choice. anyway whatever it is you do bring to your trip, hope you enjoy and be careful of snatchers! I bought an 80GB iPod for my travels in 2006. Partly to carry music but mostly to store my digital photographs. The downloading of photos from the camera took a lot out of the battery and I found relying on the USB connection at the cyber cafe was not sufficient to keep it adequately charged. So if you are going to use it for storing photographs I suggest you purchase a portable charger. Reply to this
