Here's my plan, need help.

Like I say I want to see South America and parts of Central America. I'm just about to start Spanish lessons, but i also need to develop my plan further. Obviously i need to be more precise with the actual city destinations butr ight now it looks kinda like this....
Leave Glasgow for Argentina
Argentina into Chile
North towards the Andes, maybe into Bolivia
Peru next
Then I would like to see Brazil and Colombia before heading to Guatemala and hopefully Jamaica.

The advice i need is, well basically anything you have for a trip like this.
Is it feasable?
anything i have missed?
Anything i SHOULD miss?
Pros and cons?
Potential pitfalls?

You know what i mean, anyone who has taken a trip like this or parts of it, I'm sure you have loads of information for me. Any links would also be greatly appreciated.
