Travel insurance for Australian residents...

... besides World Nomads as this doesn't cover a lot if you're an Aussie!

Can anyone recommend where to get decent travel insurance from for an Aussie traveller?

World Nomads covers everything is you're say an Irish resident, both only half of this if your an australian resident. This is for a years travel in South America and Africa so we don't want to have to worry about what we can or can't do.

Thanks. Reply to this

It's a shame - world nomads used to cover so much for everyone - now; I looked at the list for USA residents and it doesn't cover much at all - even worse than for Australians!

No martial arts, surfing - but even worse, no trekking! - the list of crosses is longer than ticks!

But yes - for residents of the UK and Ireland it's still a very good option.

If someone finds a better option - please be careful not to post links to affiliate websites - and post directly to the information on the insurance companies website.

Disclaimer:
I use and recommend World Nomads in the Travel Insurance section of travelblog. But it is no longer as good an option as it used to be. When I find a better alternative - out with World Nomads and in with a company that really meets the adventurous traveler's needs - or probably - separate recommendations depending on where you are resident.
