Want to travel through asia & europe as cheap as possible. Any ideas/suggestions?
So, here's my plan: The initial part is to travel from my home in Sweden, through Finland to Moscow. From there I'll take the trans-sibirian railway to Beijing, and it's from there my real journey will begin. The only part from Beijing that I have more or less thought out is to go to Shanghai and take a boat to Japan to visit friends. After that I do not know.
I want to travel from Beijing back home as cheap as possible, with stop-overs at as many famous places, historical "wonders" and beautifil places as I can get to. I'm thinking stuff like:
- The Great Wall
- Ankor Vat
- mt. Everest (just to look at it)
- Taj Mahal
- the pyramids
- Athens
- the greek archipelagio
- maybe climb Mt. Olympos (if it's possible without guides & ropes & stuff)
- transylvania (the castles of Vlad Tepes Dracula)
- Rome
- and the list goes on...
My big questions are: Does anyone here think this is possible? Has anyone here done anything like this? if so, is there anything I need to think about before this? will I have visa troubles in asia? and also, do you guys & gals have any recommendations for places to visit? I have an affinity for ancient asian & european arcitecture, as well as for places that makes you go "Wow...".
I won't be able to pull this off for another 1½ - 2 years, but I'm already really excited about doing it.

A friend did that - 2 days and very sea sick!
To answer visa questions - where you are from is important - well - where your passport is from, more precisely.
You have a nice list of man-made wonders to visit (except Everest) - so some natural wonders to look at would also fit nicely in that list.
My tips would include make short hops, have no time-scales, avoid expensive countries - if cheap is your ultimate goal, travel light - much easier to hitch with 1 bag 😉, and have a backup plan.
The backup plan would/could be to leave enough money with someone trusted to buy you a ticket from anywhere to home - I have been told stories about people becoming destitute on the streets of a foreign city and not being able to get help from anyone. Get travel insurance no matter how you travel.
Read through the
Travel Guide - lots of tips there.
You have 2 years to plan this! - but the main thing is - do it 😊
