I was wondering if there is any way to work my way across the pacific ocean to Asia? Anyone have any ideas, would it be possible to get a job on some cargo ship just to get across the ocean, or some other way to get across. I just need a way to cross without spending a ton of money. Any valid suggestions for Very cheap, like under $200 usd, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Post Scriptum: I was even thinking about hitchhiking up through Canada to Alaskan and getting a ride across the Bering sea and coming down into Asia, or would that be way to much trouble? Reply to this

Hello Sleeperknight 😊

I met some girls when I was travelling in Thailand who work on cruise ships. They said those jobs are quite easy to get and they even got to choose which cruises they wanted to work on. Maybe that is an option for u.

There is a small trick to get on flight...nealry free of charge...bu you need to book way ahead...and be ready for some risk.

If you book a ticket months in advance, you know you've got a cheap deal. But the next step, is to book a flight that you know will be oversold....and by a lot...think about a Friday 21st December for example. If you leave from North America, they will ask for volonteer and often offer compensation...that can be more than the original price of the ticket. And you can do that also on the return.

From Europe, it' even better, they have to give you 600euro per flight...if you get lucky, this is a big chunk of your original ticket.

So now I must admit, you need to do proper homework to find out which flights are more likekely to be oversold. And for your info, in Asia, it's simply doesn't work..except if you fly to the US or Europe.

Sad thing this didn't exist much when I was a student, and I didn't knew about it....now I on't have anymore the time to do it...but it does work...

Have fun! Peter Reply to this
