Still trying to organize a RTW trip...

I talk to people everyday about what i should do and well i thought i should speak to the people that have experinced it first hand (you guys).

Travelling is a great experince i do not disagree but when doing it shall i buy a RTW ok less freedom however you know where you are going and proberly alot cheaper however shall i should head wherever i feel like it and worry about it whilst i am there...go wherever i decide next instead of having to pretty much stick to the ticket?

I have the vision of just getting up on day and decide where to go next...sailing of in sunset...please help...(every suggestion welcome) Reply to this

Hi Gooner, its all down to cash and money, if you have plenty of both then single tickets, if you lacking in both get an RTW ticket.

It doesn't have to be much more expensive, there are local airlines that are much cheaper than we can think, we took few flights in Indonesia and Malaysia for about 20 Euros, and there are always trains, buses and ferries which, are not only cheaper but they allow you to see life around you instead of flying over it...I am quite against air travel, I think it's kind of a waste, unless you don't really have much time...the RTW ticket only lasts 1 year and, as Louise L'Amour said: "the trail is the thing, not the end of the trail. Travel too fast and you miss all you're traveling for".
I would recommend to read "Vagabonding. An uncommon guide to the art of long-term world travel", by Rolf Potts...it's a great book with lots of advice in things like this...(its' a cheap, easy to read book).
Have fun with anything you choose!!!
