ladies and gentlemen!
i am working on my paper for my course in the study of tourism. and my major concern is" why do you again go to a destination". that is to say, what on earth make you go to a destination repeatedly ?what is your motivation? and what can influent your decision before you decide to do so ?
thank you. and please help me. any commet and reply are welcomed warmly ...especially via email! at：
I have now been coming to Rhodes Town in Greece for the past 5 years, started off as a 1 week holiday, and then 2 week holiday, then a 3 week holiday and then this year I have spent the summer out here!!
I initially started coming to see friends out here and just fell in love with the place.
The reason I come back to the same place is that it now feels like home but with none of the stress!! Once I get off the plane, I know where I'm going to get to where I am staying. I then get up on the first day of the holiday and know exactly where everything is that I want to see and do and don't have any stress or worry.
Even after 5 years I am seeing things that I have never seen before so that makes it interesting as well.
Next year unfortunately I will probably only be able to manage a 1 week holiday, but I know as soon as I get here all the stress and strain of UK life will be gone!
thank you for your reply and it is also the first one in the topic.
you are really interesting to me for you can go to one destination for 5 times and are going to do so.
and surprisingly, that your reply almost answered all the questions that i put in an questionnaire in China
all the relpy and your words are warmly welcomed !
We are traveling around the world and visiting places we haven't been before except for one. We returned to San Francisco because we were offered a week's stay there and it gave us a chance to see more of a city that we really loved last time we visited only for a few day. It didn't disappoint us either - we could do something different every day!
en, thanks weggs, for your reply and the chance for me to kown better the motivation and another factors of people's revisiting, not only people in China, but also all over the World/ thanks !
all the relpy and your words are warmly welcomed !
Hello Silence 😊
For destinations I go to repeatedly, it is usually because there are things about that place that I miss.
The food, the climate, the interesting culture etc.
I am normall one of those people who makes a point of not going back to the same place twice. However for the last few years I have been going to Malta at least once if not twice a year for three main reasons:
1. The people are so welcoming and friendly
2. The weather is great
3. We have developed a lot of friends there
Another wrds I can go form the crap weather in Ireland to the good weather of Malta nad still feel at home
thanks ！for your wonderful and useful reply, providing me with many imformation!!
Hi, friends in TravelBlog. come om give me more information on your revisiting experiences !
Thank you !
and if you would like to help me with finishing a questionaaire , please tell me !
have u ever revisited some tourist destination all over the world?
what is your aim ormotivation to revisit??
did you stay longer / spent more money in ur revisit than your prior one?
do you think that you were much more fully prepared in your revisit than in the prior one?
During the revisiting, what did you do differently from your prior visit ?
Simple, first time you have a taste of the place
Second time an understanding of the place...
Third time you may start to believe you could be a local....
and than you think...there are still so many places I haven't seen....but for me, the list is starting to finally get shorter.
If you need to do most of it by a single RWT ticket, Use Star Alliance for what you want. www.staralliance.com even have a tool to design your own personal trip.
London-Venice, I would do it on a low cost, than Venice-Athens, easy on Austrian. Athen-Istanbul-Cairo on Turkish, Cairon-Dubai...Singapore airlines does it. Dubai-India...I thikn there is a way with Thai to Bombay. India-SE Asia, easy with Thai or SQ. Going up to HK with the same. Shanghai Airlines to Shanghai from HK, than on to ANA to Japan. To the States, plenty of choice from Japan, ANA, United or even Air Canada and SQ as well as Thai. Than in the States, United and US Airways, and plenty of choice for London after.
For Saudi Arabia, you can do all that on a separate ticket from Dubai. Be careful that if you are not a Muslim, going around as a tourist won't be that easy in Saudi Arabia.
Have fun...and let it be 80 days or 2 years...the best is to enjoy what you do the way you want to enjoy it with the means and time you have...
Ive been to Spain/Costa Brava in all about 20 times i go every yr to my grandmas flat, its like second home to me and i think really thats what its about its like a comfort thing iv got lots of friends there & the spanish are lovely people. Then I also go the Isle Of Man every year nearly because of family living there so for me traveling to another place a lot! is because of family or friends!hope this helps a little.
Jodyx, thanks a lot , your relpy means a lot to me!!
I have trvaelled through Asia and Europe, but the place I keep coming back to is The Barrier Reef, North Australia. Why? Being Australian it is cheaper than overseas, but mainly for the Barrier Reef. As a scuba diver -
is there any place better? The best diving on the planet...the water is warm, tropical. Plenty of dive operators take you to the best spots. Up close and personal with sharks and giant cod, amazing...
Good luck with your course!
Tron，thanks for your reply, with many informantion on tourists revisiting！
looking forward to more and more replies on your revisiting expirences
I revisit some places because there is a familiarity which can be a major influence in my being able to truly relax. There is no wondering where the food is good and where it isn't, or which beaches are great for boarding and which ones are just dangerous. Plus, when I arrive in a place I have been there is a reliving of past good memories, and that is just as beautiful as being there now.
Seeking familiarity and recalling the good memory of the prior visit is trully the important motivations for revisiting some destinations, which is also testified in Erin and Dan's story and experiences,
thanks! Erin and Dan
