Why do you go to a destination again and again?

I am working on my paper for my course in tourism. My major concern is "why do you revisit a destination?". That is to say, what makes you go to a destination repeatedly? What influences you?

I have now been coming to Rhodes Town in Greece for the past 5 years, started off as a 1 week holiday, and then 2 week holiday, then a 3 week holiday and then this year I have spent the summer out here!!

I initially started coming to see friends out here and just fell in love with the place.

The reason I come back to the same place is that it now feels like home but with none of the stress!! Once I get off the plane, I know where I'm going to get to where I am staying. I then get up on the first day of the holiday and know exactly where everything is that I want to see and do and don't have any stress or worry.

Even after 5 years I am seeing things that I have never seen before so that makes it interesting as well.

Next year unfortunately I will probably only be able to manage a 1 week holiday, but I know as soon as I get here all the stress and strain of UK life will be gone! Reply to this

Hi
We are traveling around the world and visiting places we haven't been before except for one. We returned to San Francisco because we were offered a week's stay there and it gave us a chance to see more of a city that we really loved last time we visited only for a few day. It didn't disappoint us either - we could do something different every day! Reply to this

Hello Silence 😊

For destinations I go to repeatedly, it is usually because there are things about that place that I miss.
The food, the climate, the interesting culture etc.

Hi,

I am normall one of those people who makes a point of not going back to the same place twice. However for the last few years I have been going to Malta at least once if not twice a year for three main reasons:

1. The people are so welcoming and friendly
2. The weather is great
3. We have developed a lot of friends there

Another wrds I can go form the crap weather in Ireland to the good weather of Malta nad still feel at home Reply to this

have u ever revisited some tourist destination all over the world?
what is your aim ormotivation to revisit??
did you stay longer / spent more money in ur revisit than your prior one?
do you think that you were much more fully prepared in your revisit than in the prior one?
During the revisiting, what did you do differently from your prior visit ? Reply to this

Simple, first time you have a taste of the place
Second time an understanding of the place...
Third time you may start to believe you could be a local....
and than you think...there are still so many places I haven't seen....but for me, the list is starting to finally get shorter.

Regards,

If you need to do most of it by a single RWT ticket, Use Star Alliance for what you want. www.staralliance.com even have a tool to design your own personal trip.

London-Venice, I would do it on a low cost, than Venice-Athens, easy on Austrian. Athen-Istanbul-Cairo on Turkish, Cairon-Dubai...Singapore airlines does it. Dubai-India...I thikn there is a way with Thai to Bombay. India-SE Asia, easy with Thai or SQ. Going up to HK with the same. Shanghai Airlines to Shanghai from HK, than on to ANA to Japan. To the States, plenty of choice from Japan, ANA, United or even Air Canada and SQ as well as Thai. Than in the States, United and US Airways, and plenty of choice for London after.

For Saudi Arabia, you can do all that on a separate ticket from Dubai. Be careful that if you are not a Muslim, going around as a tourist won't be that easy in Saudi Arabia.

Have fun...and let it be 80 days or 2 years...the best is to enjoy what you do the way you want to enjoy it with the means and time you have...

Hello,
I have trvaelled through Asia and Europe, but the place I keep coming back to is The Barrier Reef, North Australia. Why? Being Australian it is cheaper than overseas, but mainly for the Barrier Reef. As a scuba diver -
is there any place better? The best diving on the planet...the water is warm, tropical. Plenty of dive operators take you to the best spots. Up close and personal with sharks and giant cod, amazing...
Good luck with your course! Reply to this

I revisit some places because there is a familiarity which can be a major influence in my being able to truly relax. There is no wondering where the food is good and where it isn't, or which beaches are great for boarding and which ones are just dangerous. Plus, when I arrive in a place I have been there is a reliving of past good memories, and that is just as beautiful as being there now. Reply to this

Seeking familiarity and recalling the good memory of the prior visit is trully the important motivations for revisiting some destinations, which is also testified in Erin and Dan's story and experiences,
