Are you able to go horseback riding in the afternoon?

Has anyone gone horseback riding at Sweetwater Tented Camp? I have dreamed of riding among the zebras. Are we able to do this? What is the cost and do you need reservations? My husband and I will be there on July 27, 2007 with an OAT group. Reply to this

We had two nights at Sweetwater Tented Camp in 2005. I didn't see any horseback riding when I was there, some in my group went out on camels. I understand the camp has been sold since our visit and I have heard that it is even better. I take women's groups http://www.goingplacestogether.com on tour to exotic destinations and Sweetwater was high on their list of places they enjoyed on their 2005 safari of Kenya and Tanzania. You can sit under the canvas of your tent and look out across the reserve. There was a feeling that the only thing between you and the animals is a sign that reads "Do not go beyond this sign!" It only faced the tents so I guess the animals knew what it said as they didn't bother us. Great place, have fun, try the camel riding...always an experience. Reply to this

Thank you so much for your information. It sounds like you have a wonderful program and I am so glad to know that the amimals are trained not to cross the line. Hee, hee.....Camels are fun but I did that at Wadi Run, Jordan and found that I still prefer horses because I have a history with horses and have more control. Sweetwater advertises that they have horseback riding but my travel experience has made me sceptical of what might be available when I visit. Often activities in developing countries must be arranged far in advance and many places activities have been a property's dream for the future... Traveling is always an adventure so I will be happy with whatever. Reply to this
