Do I post a travel photo the same way as I post a blog under the blog category? Reply to this

Hi Tab,

I see you have photos uploaded to your blog entries, is your question about adding a photo to a forum post?

Use the photo code which is displayed when you click directly on that photo to view it full size.
It will look something like [photo=12345]

Copy and paste the code, including square brackets, where you want to add the photo. Reply to this

Hi Jo,

Thank you for your response. I suppose I was not very clear in my question...my apology..it was in a haste. Let me clarify it clearly; actually, there are 3 things I wanted to know.

a) When I upload a photo only, the application does not allow me to upload unless I add some text in "Add Text" box, similar to when I write a blog and attach some photos to it. I was wondering, whether there is any other way, I could add a photo and just a caption without going through the same formalities as to writing a blog.

b) When Travelblog selects a photo for its first page, does it select it from a general posting as in a), or there is another bucket somewhere I should drop my photo?

c) I learnt how to post a photo earlier from Dancing Dave...(Thanks to Dave), Only forum I found where I could post it "Faces in Place". Are there any other forums that I might be missing?

Jo, sorry for giving you trouble (no pun intended!) ☺☺ Reply to this

a) Easiest option is to create a 'dummy' blog entry, one that you will leave unpublished.
Think of it as a holding area for photos.
Upload photos to that entry, with a title and also caption if you want.
Then review the entry and copy the photo code, to use where you want.

b) Photos are randomly selected from photos rated highly by TB members. You can't rate your own photos sorry :-)
The more you get involved with the site, the more other members will see your work, then maybe look at and rate some of your photos

c) Anyone can start a form thread, for whatever topic they want (within reason, and provided it abides by the ToS).
Avoid starting a thread purely for the purpose of promoting your own photos - that might be viewed by moderators/admin as spam. Reply to this

Thanks Jo!
As for b), I was not suggesting that I would rate my own photo...that defeats the purpose...I was just wondering if there is any repository in particular that I am supposed to store the photo from where selectors rate the photo. It appears there is none, and it is the same blog where the photos are posted. That answers my question. Reply to this

I only mentioned it as we have had people previously who wanted to do just that :-)
If you want to rate a photo from someone else's blog entry, click on the photo so that you have the large view, then look just under the bottom left corner. You should see five stars - click on the star rating you think it deserves. Reply to this
