We're planning an overland trip in Africa to produce a television programme. We're thinking of visiting the following countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Madagascar, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho and South Africa.

I am going to produce a television programme to be aired on a Maltese TV channel and possibly on other foiregn channels. We are planing to visit the following countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Madagascar, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho and South Africa.
Can anyone suggest any contacts who might be interested in helping us for the production of this programme?
Also can you suggest what are the best attractions in the above mentioned countries and suggest anything else in other neighbouring countries of the ones mentioned above?

A flight over Nyika Plateau would surely give you great shots, and anywhere over the lake (especially Likoma and Chizumulu Islands), plus the Ilala ferry. A visit to the Viphya Plateau is a must, and the old mission town of Livingstonia is worth it, if even just for the views. Mt. Mulanje is spectacular, as are the tea plantations around it, and Liwonde National Park and the Shire River are very beautiful. For villages and towns and culture, I'd visit Mzuzu, Nkhata Bay, Nkhotakota, Lilongwe (just for the EU building!), Ruarwe (on the lake north of Nkhata Bay) and Mulanje town.

But on your tour you have to visit Zimbabwe - a country everyone wants to know about - and Angola - one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

Reply to this Hi, if you want the human face and really moving human stories of hardship turned around then stop off in Iringa, Tanzania and visit us at neema crafts (www.neemacrafts.com) I also do development work in rural villages and would be happy to take you out for a morning to see and film a different side of Africa. A good place to base yourdelf is either riverside campsite or the lutheran centre in town. Iringa is a good place to take a break as we are on the main road south and also the gateway to one of Africa's undiscovered gems ruaha national park which is only 2 hours drive from us. Also Isimilia stone age site is just outside town, which is one of the best stone age sites in the world. I have worked with the film industry and am also in the travel business in South Africa and am sure i can put you in touch with the right people. There are many TV/film production companies that can help you here and many tour guides and tour operators. If you give me a better idea of what you require i am sure i will be able to refer you to someone with suitable knowlege and experience.
