Turkey - Balkans VISA card?

A week from now I'll be going to Turkey and then travel up through the Balkans. Anyone have experience using VISA card on that route?

So, one week from now it's finally time to get moving again! I'll be travelling from Turkey up through the Balkans, more specifically I'll be going through: Ankara, Istanbul, Canakkale, Sofia, Bucharest, Belgrade, Pristina, Skopje, Tirana, Shkodra, Podgorica, Sarajevo, Zagreb and Maribor. Basically I'm wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to use my regular VISA card at these locations to purchase my tickets? I want to avoid bringing cash as far as possible but I will if necessary but then I want to take care of it at home to avoid pesky fees. 😊

Thankful for your help! Reply to this

You can use your VISA card but it may be advisable to pay cash in small shops, because small business pay a lot in transaction fees. They may not even have the machine for purchase with VISA. Hotels, travel agencies etc will be no problem. Check with your bank for the fees, they differ. Reply to this
