It is good to put it on paper. If you can imagine it you can make it happen!
Reply to this Having just completed my 2013 fantasy trip following the Silk Road across China and Uzbekistan, then tagging on the Baltics and Finland; my thoughts are already on my 2014 trip to Peru, Bolivia, and hopefully more of South America. D&MJ, my Profile must have triggered this forum topic as my plans for the next five years are listed there.

Indeed you are correct! Looking at your future itinerary got me to thinking that all of us need to outline what we think will happen.
Certainly it will change but the fun will be in seeing how much change occurs.
Reply to this More to add to my bucket list:
New Zealand - for its beautiful landscapes
Canada with it's beautiful scenery and lakes as well
Philippines - heard the diving's good
Malawi - have to see that wonderful lake
Tanzania - of course for the migration
I think my bucket list and travel plan is getting longer and longer!
Reply to this Hi Alma,
Ours continue to get longer and longer also. Reading blogs always gives one new ideas or confirms the old ideas.
Reply to this The plan for me for now is to head to Colorado this Wednesday and use Denver as a home base for a bit. Then I will explore and re-explore locations in Colorado for a few weeks. After that I plan on heading up the Rocky mountains again through the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Parks.
After Glacier I will visit Banff National Park and other locations in Alberta, Canada.
After that I will swing around through the Dakotas and Nebraska to visit the SAC museum south of Omaha as I was in SAC after being drafted in 72. Then through Arkansas and to visit a buddy near Little Rock.
I will then visit family in Texas and then back to my new home base in Denver.
In the Fall I will visit Greece again, starting with Crete and then hopscotch up through the Greek Islands to Athens. Then Rome again till winter sets in at which time I will return to Denver to enjoy the winter.
During the winter I will visit locations in Mexico off and on as well.
Next Spring (2014) I intend to visit New Zealand. Spring in Denver should be Fall there if I have it figured correctly.
So thatโs the plan for the year ahead. Of course it is subject to change as opportunities arise.
Reply to this I love this post and I agree - we all have to dream BIG time!!!
I know that we just came back but we already know what places we want to visit next haha
2013 - we have visited 8 countries already (blogs still to come but job hunting is taking majority of out time) and we want to still visit US this year - we promised our friends. Maybe we will also go for a wedding to New Zealand so fingers crossed. We will go and see a lot of UK as we had been so bad with this in the past
2014 - would love to go back to Philippines (loved it so much), Papua, Polynesia/French Polynesia or maybe cruise around Caribbean (all inclusive so that we dont have to watch money - 18 months of that was long enough haha)
We decided that we would love to take longer trips again and plan on doing another RTW: Iceland/Canada/USA/Australia/New Zealand/Japan (the whole thing would be a budget killer, we know) as well as campervaning around Europe (maybe if we have little globetrotter with us one day)
I so miss traveling already:-)

Hello Beata,
Dave and I took an extended trip of eight months in 2007. The first four or five months after our return we were content not traveling. Slowly, the urge returned. It took until 2012 to figure out how to do it again. Last years trip only lasted six months. A great six months.
We've been rooted for a couple of months now and are content for the most part. With that said we are looking to take a two week trip in the fall.
Our dreams and plans are what keep it interesting. So--- keep dreaming!
I'm sure we'll all be on the road again.....when the time is right.
( and we have the disposable income )
Iceland was included in our trip last year and it was truly a delight.
If you get to the U.S.A. we will cook you dinner.
Or...hopefully our paths will cross in some far away land.

Everybody here is so inspiring!!! Especially those who did their big trips twice or more - amazing!!!

Counting the days to Malaysia...but sounds like you have a plan to keep you distracted.
Hope you'll post a photo of the puppy and his or her name. I'm sure the pup will become a local traveler.
