I guess its all about money and the number of people that hit our newspapers on a regular basis as they sat in another country and talked ot their mum for 1 hour or searched the internet for hours on end, then are surprised when they get an international phone bill of $000's, is quite a lot!

But, i dont really care for them. I figure when i'm overseas i have my phone as an emergency contact so that means i want the same phone number, and that i also dont intend on really using it at all. Just for emergency contact or something ridiculously important. I do know people who fb or txt everyone a new number while they are in another country for a month or so but i dont bother storing the new number as i have enough problems with historic email addresses of people let alone multiple mobile phone numbers!

just my thoughts, tam 😊 Reply to this

The main reason is so you do not have a very high phone bill, if you have a gsm phone then you can order a payas you go sim card online and when you get out of the states you can use your phone just have a new number... you can search for these carriers on bing or i guess google to.
