Oh I remember reading about your Dad's horrible accident! I'm glad he was able to find a few vodka buckets to ease his pain. Damn mopeds! Reply to this

Well I think this thread proves it, almost everyone suffers ailments and injuries while on the road....and a positive attitude will get you through just about anything. Safe travels everyone! Reply to this

Whilst I haven't seen the inside of any hospitals while abroad, this holiday has seen me venture into many wild and wonderful 'pharmacies'. With an ear infection causing immense pain in Japan, the portable shed masquerading as a chemist in Nikko provided almost instantaneous relief after an amusing game of charades. My husband tripped and cut his ankle in Kep and that seeping wound still hasn't completely healed after a month, although the scab is now a lovely crescent shape. To round out the injuries, my daughter received 4 stitches seven days ago in a little clinic outside Kanchanaburi. No English, no anaesthetic and really not much in the way of guidance. Just, 'No water, seven days'. Hmmm. But through our ailments, the pharmacists have been absolutely wonderful. Reply to this
