All other forms of transportation seem to work properly or at least try. Reply to this

Friends who tagged along refused to see interesting places, always wants to get out as fast as possible, always in a hurry and spoilt my trip. Self centered and selfish.....should send them to the fishmongers. Reply to this

Tourists who are very uncourteous and not self aware...so will walk right in front of others, push into lines, stare or point, or show disrespect to the country they are in whether it be clothing attire, food etiquette, religion or refusing to attempt their language.

A big classic of Australians in Asia is suddenly speaking in pigeon english to people who often speak english better than them...gggrrrr Reply to this

I guess it would be people who turn on the TV and have it playing at a loud volume watching TV and that is pretty much all they do all day. If all they wanted to do is watch TV then why didn't they just stay home!! Reply to this

I have just noticed what Indonesian Imigrasi did when they did not allow us to board our flight...I had a look in giants passport and the departure tax stamp has a C written across it....in my passport the grubby monsters scrawled CANCELLED across an entire page of my passport......thank you for that Indonesia I now look like a suspicious person with a whole page of my passport defaced by you. Grump. Reply to this

In the US, it is a common practice to leave the TV on in the room when you are gone. Then thieves do not know if someone is in the room or not. Reply to this

For me it one of the most annoying things was people not moving out your way when you are walking down a path.. this is probably a really British thing that we are way too polite but in Asia particually people would just walk right into you rather than step to one side. I'm not sure if they just expected us to move out the way as most Western people normally do but it happened pretty much everywhere we went! Dale is a lot more chilled than me so it didn't really affect him but it became a real bugbear of mine!

Another annoying thing.. kind of what happens with elbows but for me it was legs... I always seem to get a seat next to or in between men who site with their legs wide open leaving me with a sliver of space to put my legs making for very uncomfortable journeys most of the time.

I try to take all incidents in my stride...but my tolerance is tested by the following:

1. Being taken to the wrong hotel by taxis...them insisting it is the hotel I have booked when it obviously isn't!

2. Tourists treating hotel domestic staff as if they are a lower class. Also when some can't bring themselves to say "Thank you".

3. Agreeing to a taxi fee in a foreign country...then stopping in the middle of nowhere being demanded...a higher fee or no continue.

4. The "ugly tourist" like the ones in my Faces of Ethiopia blog. FACES OF ETHIOPIA...Makes my blood boil. Reply to this

I have actually done the your space/my space thing on the plane, and several times had to tell my ignorant neighbor I paid for my seat and I want the whole thing.

Fat people who cant fit into their seats also annoy me. Sorry but I am not going to spend 10 hours uncomfortable because you like to lay on the couch all day stuffing potato chips into your mouth. You are the one who gets to be uncomfortable, thats the price you pay. And before anyone gets all uppity about how its not their fault they are fat I call BS. Its one of the only physical attributes people can actually control, unlike beauty or height.

Yeah the leg thing also drives me crazy when the guy next to me feels like he needs so much room for his little twig and berries. Really? Reply to this

people who endlessly complain about touts annoy me. it truly must be an awful experience for them that someone who sleeps on the street can have the audacity to try and make some sort of living to buy food and shelter when you are simply trying to get from A to B to spend hundreds/thousands of dollars. how dare they annoy tourists Reply to this
