I know I can cut and paste the text into a new blog, but can I cut and paste pictures?

I have almost completed entering all my blogs from 1949 to the present. I am now going back and editing them so that I can "blog to book." I am now reconsidering chapters and need to break some blogs into two. For example, my blog "College...and then Marriage" dated August 29, 1968, I now want to separate into College, which would be the last chapter in my book on School Years, and Marriage which would be my first chapter in my book for my early years following college.

I do not want to have to delete the marriage pictures from the existing blog, and then reload them into the new blog. Labeling pictures takes a long time. Is it possible to cut and paste the pictures to the new blog? If so, please provide detailed instructions. Thanks! Reply to this

Hi Bob, unless they have changed things at blog to book you have to reload all of your photos again. It sounded horrible when I first realized I could not just kick them over but it ended up being fine. It went faster than expected.

Let me know how it works out for you.
We love our books!

I have started blogging to books and all my text and pictures with titles and subtext transferred without any problem.

In the example above, I guess I could load my blog titled "College...and then Marriage" into two books; one titled "My school years" and the other "Beginning My Life with Linda," and then delete the text and pictures referring to my marriage from the first book and the text and pictures referring to college from the second book.

Unless I hear otherwise, I will got with that. Thanks for your help. Reply to this

Send Brian an email and I'm sure he will tell you how to do it. When you send them an email Brian will answer quickly. Reply to this

The guys at Drop The World are also TB members, so they'll know exactly what you're referring to if you ask them specific questions about uploading of your blog entries. Reply to this

In response to: Msg #148781 Brian replied immediately to my request for information. He says that the photos downloaded from TB are too small for the book. I will have to delete them all (shouldn't have downloaded them in the first place), and download the original pictures from my hard drive. I certainly won't go through the effort of adding back the titles and text! But this is ok...I didn't want to show all the pictures anyway, as I want to balance the text and pictures so both end on the same page.

As far as breaking up a blog into two, he says to just download the blog twice, once for each chapter or book, and delete the pages, text or pictures that I do not want.

Thanks for your advice. Reply to this

Bob,

Once you start downloading them into Drop the world you'll find it goes fast. I ended up downloading additional pictures that we didn't originally have in the blog. Don't give up on the captions. It will go faster than you think and you will love the final product. Reply to this
