About to hit the road for a couple of months, but don't want to pack the tinsel and party hats?

Wishing you were going to be travelling this festive season, so that you could experience something new at Christmas?

Neither of the above, but love swapping travel stories with like-minded and friendly people?

Come along to one of TravelBlog's annual Christmas/New Year get-togethers, and meet fellow members of the TB community! These are very casual, see the TravelBlog Album for photos from previous years. If you're new to TB, don't be shy - we're all really friendly!

As with previous years, send a message to the person listed as a contact for the city you'll be in, and go from there.

If you're able to be a contact for a get-together please post the details below, and we'll add you to the list.

p.s. Tinsel and party hats optional ;-)

Christmas / New Year:

Sydney, Australia (between Christmas and NY) - contact Jo Trouble
(any locals are welcome to take over as contact)

Auckland, New Zealand - contact Jo Trouble

London, United Kingdom - contact JonathanCampion

Lexington/Louisville/Cincinnati, United States - contact Stephanie and Andras

San Francisco, United States - contact D MJ Binkley (Dec 6 - see msg #3 for more details)

Also:

Bangkok, Thailand (anytime the first two weeks of December) - contact Maisondubonheur

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (end of November or beginning of December) -
contact Maisondubonheur

Hi Dave and Merry Jo,

Thanks ever so much for the invite--maybe I will be able to take you up on it in a few years. For now, I'm a bit clueless about where I'll be. While I should be heading back home, I'm somehow heading south again back down further into Patagonia. I wish you a wonderful Christmas gathering and I'm sure we'll meet when I return to California. Best wishes, Tara Reply to this

I have been very unreliable with this in the past, but will try again to host something in London this year. I should be here for all of December: my office is between Victoria station and Buckingham Palace, so I'm very "findable"!

Wish I could be there! I'd love to meet some fellow travelbloggers. Put me on Skype and I could listen in! Kidding. 😊

Enjoy your evening!! Reply to this

Where will you be around Christmas time Anastasia? You never know, there could be other TBers in the area :-) Reply to this

In the vicinity of Chicago.... Reply to this

You know, Anastasia, Chicago's not too far away in Lexington, KY!

Naturally, we're always happy to host (although it seems no matter where we are - from Seattle to New York - we tend to miss folks coming through!) If there are enough interested TBers in the area (IL, IN, OH, KY), I'd glad to arrange something more central on a specific date. Otherwise all are welcome to get in touch if planning to be in the Lexington/Louisville/Cincinnati area and we'll go from there.

Let us know if you'd like to be put down as a contact for Chicago - people will then know to get in touch if they're going to be in the area around Christmas.

And.....in addition..... maybe we should consider having the TB birthday party in Chicago in April. Stephanie and I have been discussing NYC and other locations but no decision has been reached
