Hi there, I was thinking if you could help me, because coming vacations I would like to take a trip aboard my country. But like bunch of people I don't have too a large amount of money for it. However lately I've read article about home exchange for vacations and I consider it might be what I’ am looking for. But what do You think about it? Have someone from You exchanged his house? Is it safe? Any recommendations or useful information’s? Thanks in advice Reply to this

Hi Kail. I've read about Home Exchange before and is also something we might consider trying in the future. You might wanna PM cabochick and read about her hilarious blog "Learning to speak Australian 101.... " where she wrote about homeswapping.

Other option is to rent out your home to offset your accommodation cost whilst travelling in the long term.

Hope this helps ! 😉

I have few home exchange trips behind me and I never had any problems with it (used this site: http://www.homeexchange24.com/) More important: find good people to exchange with try to contact so many as possible. Then chose who is most suited for you. Overall great experience, cheap, comfort, can meet great people, never had problems with it. I recommend it. Reply to this

hi kail,

I have done home exchange in countries like australia, brazil and costa rica and i really loved it. People who haven't tried it yet think that its not safe, but based on my experience,it is safe since you get to know the other party before you exchange homes. And aside from the money you saved on accommodations, travelling by home exchange also allows you to interact and meet with the local people, making your trip even more enjoyable and memorable.

By the way, there are a lot of home exchange sites out there who can help you find the best home for exchange , but my personal favorites are http://www.HomeExchange.com because they have the most members, and http://www.WorldHomeExchanges.com because they have a unique security contract for members.

Enjoy your Trip! 😊

Sophie
