I am looking for info on how to get to Ghana safety and what do I need for border crossing, like visa, insurance and any fee. What paper works do I need to show.
Any suggestion as to which is the safest and where ro avoid

Or is there a guide that can drive the car with me on each country that can help me?

TIA

One of the big problems getting to Ghana is the Visa ....they are getting difficult to get now while in Africa and require you to get them in your home country

In january 2013 i plan to drive from Reykjavik Iceland to Capetown SouthAfrica ,takeing a good 6 months, with 15 passanges in a old 4x4 ex army truck

if you are intrested ,

To get the visa to Ghana you will need to apply for it in your home country. If not, the only way to be given one is to prove that you have been travelling for more than three months (thus any visa obtained from home has expired). Rules for obtaining Ghana visas have tightened considerably in the past few months.

Not sure which way you intend to go - as you could continue to head down the coast, but there are some risky areas in that part fo the world, or you can head inland from Senegal and pass through Mali and Burkina. You could easily head into Benin and Togo before heading back into Ghana.

A blogger who has recently travelled down the West of Africa (but didn't visit Ghana) can be found here: thedribbleman

The big advantage you will have with a car is not having to endure the bus travel (as Drew discovered). The big negative is trying to get the vehicle across the different borders.
