Opinions on Strong and Lightweight Suitcase please?

I'm not going to be "backpacking" but will be doing some serious travel for 9 months or so and need a very strong but lightweight suitcase.

I was considering the Samsonite Cosmolite

http://www.cosmolite.co.uk/

or there are some other offerings from

Animal
Bric
Delsey

Anyone have any real experience of a suitcase that really will take a serious pounding across multiple continents and locations??

Thanks! Reply to this

The last piece of luggage I bought was a semi-hard case (you know, the ones made of plastic?). I actually went to the store (TJ Maxx in my case) with a fish scale and weighed the different suitcases they were selling. With the long trips I take I did not want to sacrifice precious pounds from my luggage allowance for an empty suitcase. The craziest thing? Some of those suitcases weighed more than 10 pounds!! My suggestion? Get a fish scale and give your new suitcase a try in the store. Plus, I always travel with the little scale anyways to make sure I don't buy too many souvenirs 😊

Good luck!
