Travelogue Contest: Once Upon A Castle... - x[posted anonymously]x

Dear Forum Members,

I suppose that many members of your forum should have quite some lovely castle trip experiences, and might like to share them with others. If that is true, I believe I know something you might be interested in!

A castle-travelogue contest entitled “Once upon a castle…” - offering a fairly outstanding first prize of 500 US dollars for yourself or your favorite charity organization (like a castle preservation / restoration fund) - is currently being held. Thus, I wonder if you happen to be interested in this, and whether it is alright to post an official announcement in your forum?!

Please, answer my question here, or send me your reply to:

Many thanks in advance!

Just a heads up. If anyone is to find and post about a contest of any kind, I would reccomend the following steps to avoid it looking like SPAM.

Provide an address to the website of the contest. An email address alone is not going to cut it, and will probably be deleted.

Provide a little background about prior contests, or any other information that can be backed up by other facts that can acutally be found.

Be a registered Travelblog user, and post the message. I personally don't take anonymous submissions very seriously. Take the time to create an account if you're going to take the time to post about an "outstanding" contest.

All of our users should pay attention and be wary of such posts with a lack of information, not only here but everywhere on the net.

This thread will probably be deleted with time, at Ali's discretion. Thanks for reading.

Well, Mark, that's a lot more straightforward for me!... though I had expected it to be the other way around.
The travelogue contest I mentioned is absolutely free and open to all castle fans from all over the world. It gives anyone the chance to earn 500$ for submitting the best castle travel journey impressions. As you have requested, I have come to provide more information - namely the most important excerpt from the official announcement, and the actual link to it. 😊 Here you are:

Once Upon A Castle…

Have you had an interesting castle-exploration journey that’s pictured indelible memories in your mind? Would you like to share your impressions with others? Have you ever thought that you might as well be rewarded for your perceptive spirit and eloquence in describing your experience?

InfoHub announces the 1st “Once upon a castle…” travelogue contest.

Tell us your story and get the chance to win 500 US dollars for your next castle trip or for your favorite castle preservation / restoration fund!

Thank you very much for coming back and reviewing your post DeeD, I really appreciate you taking the time to understand my position, and my concern for our users. I'm just a very wary person when it comes to doing or saying much over the net with a hope of winning something.

Ali, you should write about Baconsthorpe Castle! heheh

> Ali, you should write about Baconsthorpe Castle! heheh

hehe -

Ali and Mark aged 10, played army at Baconsthorpe Castle, Norfolk - then Mark moved to the US and never saw each over again

but hell this net things cool - we talk to each other everyday now 😊 - well not much to do with Castles anymore 😊

DeeD - I hope you get some good entries for your competition - if I was going to enter I'd have to get myself over to Vlad the Impaylers Keep in Transylvania... so the hype is probably more impressive than what ever is left but could be fun 😊

Thanks for understanding the rules we follow on posting - we'll flesh these out further in the posting process soon to avoid confusion - but as you can see we're a pretty new community and are learning everyday.

Anyone in general > Please always be wary of things that you find on the net - and if you ever see something that says "win £2000 dollars" and then asks for details of your bank accounts passwords etc - do not enter do not respond - this one looks very genuine - but there are many out there that aren't. Welcome to the wild wide web... it's a jungle out there 😊 Reply to this

Oh god... I didn't even think about THAT!!! I just meant because you lived close to it. heheh I thought it was a bunch of Holt lads that went out there, I didn't know you were in on that too... all I remember was the seemingly eternal bike ride there with a bunch of people, and playing around for a few hours. Hrmmm... I know I didn't go that much since my Mum didn't like me making that bike ride.

It'd be funny if someone had some pictures of us playing back then! heheh How embarassing would that be? Reply to this

I used to build castles out of pine needles in the tree rows at Kongskilde! That was far superior! heheh Ahhh the good old days, carefree, no worries... Reply to this

Ok - Baconthorpe castle is a fortified home - what would you consider a real castle?
