I plan to travel to Treasure Island in Florida with a 2 year old. What are your suggestion? When should I start out? How do you suggest I go? We will leave from Charlotte NC. Should we go via 85 to Atlanta then 75 or 85 to Savannah to 95?
Need some ideas guys, Thanks Booboo
Reply to this Boo, only having nieces and nephews I don't know how it would be to make any drive of that distance with a 2 year old. Is he/she good in the car? Are you trying to make good time or have a nice, leisurely drive? If you're looking to make time I'd suggest taking the Atlanta route and then 75 all the way down. If you want a better but less certain drive, go 95 until around Jacksonville, FL and then get on A1A near south Jax. A1A is old school driving, not quick at all but some really great sights and off the beaten path Florida feel. Look to cross over via 528 (Beachline Expressway and a TOLL road) or a free but absolutely nightmarish experience via I-4. That will take you to 75 either way just to different points on the interstate. Honestly, there are a million ways to do it, if you have the time and are looking to avoid the cookie cutter Disney experience I'd suggest getting off the interstates once you reach the Florida line. But then, you may want to just reach Treasure Island in as timely a manner as possible with a smallchild and, if so, you can't go wrong with a straight shot along 75. Hope that helps.
