Please help me.
My husband and I are planning on a 9 month trip through Europe and Asia starting mid-April and we don't know where to go first. We will start either in Western Europe and head East or Asia and head West. Does anybody have any guidance on which one we should do first?

some things to consider:
1. Cost
Western Europe is expensive whereas Asia is cheap. So, either you start out in Asia, try to spend little and then move onto the more expensive countries once you have worked out how to travel cheaply.
Or you spend a lot in Europe and don't need much left for Asia.
Either way, would suggest a lot less time in Europe than Asia, unless you have a big wad of cash saved up.
2. Weather.
Do you want hot summer weather in Europe, or Spring weather? Are you worried about monsoons in Asia? The tropical monsoons change depending on which country you are in. Check that out when you are planning your route.
3. Again, money related, so ignore this one if you're loaded.
In Western Europe you are likely to be sharing dorm rooms as accommodation is expensive. In Asia you can usually get your own double room. So depends which you want to start with, comfortable and get less comfortable or the other way around.
Anyway, I haven't actually answered your question, as I think it depends on you, but hopefully have given you some things to think about.
Reply to this Hi kirst,
I would like to know where u are from first??
And yes it all depends on waht your interest too...
I am living in Singapore, a cosmo modern city suitated right in South East Asia... it is a mix of western and eastern cultures society and have many air links to various places in Asia...
A great place to start with.. But in S.E.Asia, what u will expect to see are temples and shopping are relatively cheap here.... Diving, sea sports are a great choice. Seafood are surely the best bet here.
Reply to this hi,
With most visitor as i know, they want to go to Asia First, due to the different in everything: culture, life style, cost etc. especially, with the same amount of budget you visit one country in Europe you can visit several country in South East Asia. so consider about that

I personally would take the combination with the cheapest flights. If the flight prices are equal, I would go to Asia first, because I am European and would spend all my time in Europe feeling restless with waiting to go to Asia. If I went to Asia first, I would eventually start missing things about Europe and would then enjoy it more.
It is a matter of preference really. What do you feel like doing?
