Reply to this What do people generally think in your country when they see women travelling alone there, Mazen? One of my fears when travelling alone in some countries, is that I will be judged unfairly because of it.
Women did not always do things like travel alone here in Europe, but now it has become normal and accepted for them to do so.

i met people from Japan, UK,France, Switzerland, Denmark, and others i didnt ask them .
each one travelling by their own.
although our cultural is NO woman travelling alone, there is many women traveling by their own, i am as a travel agent i issue tickets for womens travelling by their own to europe and arab country.
here in Syria most travellers find us friendly people, and women find the country safe.
as you said, people started to accept it.

I will be visiting Syria next year. I am very excited about it, because I have heard such good reports from other tourists about it.
I will be travelling with my boyfriend and daughter. What do people think about families travelling together? Are there generally family rooms available in hotels?
I might also be visiting Syria alone at a different time next year.
