Istanbul to Kathmandu

If you have I need your help. I was planning on doing the same trip on my way home from Europe. I was mainly concerned about visas and if was better to get all of them from London or get them as I go?

Also I'm not so much worried about Iran as I know a few people who have been there, but I was wondering about Pakistan and Nepal and if they call for safety concerns?

I also planned to climb to the base camp of Mount Everest. I wanted to know if anyone has done that and what the best way to go about doing that is.

Any information or even just some stories of your travels would help a great deal
