Do cities or countries evoke a certain colour in your mind? Perhaps they do so because one colour stood out while you were there, or maybe it's something more subliminal...
A friend wrote to me yesterday:
"I tend to associate cities with colors - Lviv is orange, Kyiv is yellow, and Kharkiv is sometimes brown- maroon or grey. For me it's Budapest that is maroon. London is dark blue, and Kyiv is dark green.

Reply to this I have never associated places with colours. I often associate countries or cities with a certain feeling or atmosphere.

Reply to this Just got back from Turkey where any food dish ordered came out in red (tomatoes), yellow (rice pilaf) and green (peppers). For the next 2 wks, i thought "red, yellow and green" come lunch or dinner time.
Reply to this I was just in Maui and will forever associate that island with vivid green. We saw infinite shades of green on the way to Hana.
Reply to this Interesting way to see it. I've not thought about places that way, though did read an interview with Brian Eno once in which he said he remembered the Beatles 'Sgt. Pepper' album coming out and when listening he got an intense impression of gold rips through purple. So you're not alone.
Reply to this Isnt there a computer game that has places in colour? I think the game is called Civilisation?
