What kind of luggage/backpack should I get?

Going to be in one place for 8 weeks and may travel from there. Don't want to carry everything. What kind of luggage/backpacks do people use?

When traveling for a longer time, what kind and how much luggage should I get? Are back packs the only way to go? I'll be in Antigua, Guatelmala to learn spanish for 6 weeks and then traveling around a bit. What works for others? Reply to this

Hello Cynthia 😊

I rarely carry a backpack and I travel very light. I usually just take a small bag, and throw away and replace anything that gets too shabby. Any type of bag is good for this type of packing, because I can replace the bags too, if they break. I usually take 2 sets of clothes and some bathroom stuff and some books in English.

But, I think my type of packing may be considered excentric. Most carry a backpack. I suggest you try to get everything into a not too big one. Carrying around a heavy backpack would become a real pain, and they have to be stored someplace on busses and trains too when space is in short supply.
