4 girls planning to travel in Morocco. need advice on which cities to visit!
We are a group of 4 girls traveling to Morocco in May-June. We are planning on spending 4 days in Marrakech and 3 in another city possibly somewhere with a beach. We were thinking of Agadir..Any recommendations?
Reply to this Hi,
Agadir is not specially nice, it's even ugly for me....package place...for Marrakech, why don't you try to split it in 2 places, Fez and Marrakesh...with little excursions to Ouarzazate and Meknes.
For the beach, you may give a try to Essaouira, a lot more authentic, and some great winds too...
Have fun,
Peter
Reply to this Thanks for the reply Peter. How can we get to Fez? do we have to get a flight or are there any buses/train etc. I have heard about Essaouira it seems really beautiful and authentic but we were a bit worried about the variety of activities available..
Any recommendations were to stay in Fez?

Reply to this Hi,
I used to be a tour guide in Fez...well, actually more what they call a tour leader....but that was back in 1996....years back...You should be able to get on buses...not sure you have t fly there.
Well, not much to do either in Agadir....they have 2 good golf courses, but that's about it, beach is average, it's all package tourists...I also worked there back in 1994. Went back last year for a week, but with my two kids and to play golf, not really a "girls" place.
For Essaouira, you need to check as I think it's a great place for windsurfing or surfing, one of the two, as well as kite surfing...that could get you very busy for a while.
Have fun,
Peter

Same as the others, I wouldn't really recommend Agadir. There is not much to see and the Atlantic beach is not particularly nice.
Why don't you take the train head to Fez instead? The medina there is simply stunning. However, if you want a change of scenery from Marrakesh you're probably better off travelling to Ouarzazate (by bus) and on to the
Route of Kasbahs.
Enjoy your trip
