Have you learned a skill from the locals, when you were travelling? If so, what did you learn.
hello i do handicraft, learnin silver. am lookin 4 the silversmith villages (best if tradicional) in cambodia, laos or thailand. wanna learn somethin from em, work, stay, there 4 mayb a week or 2. any idea? where r the cheapest,best, friendliest, what is awaitin me? am allready in thailand, understood that they r north....

Reply to this I learned Spanish in an Indian village in Guatamala. The Indians had started 2 schools so they could earn some money by teaching Spanish to foreigners.
These same Indians also gave lessons in cloth weaving. Some travellers there took lessons in this but I didnt.
I also noticed that some countries in Asia now give cooking classes. I didnt take lessons in that either, because I can already cook a lot of Asian food quite well.
