Does anyne know where there is a program or organization that helps sponor your trip cost so that you may go volunteer...??
Reply to this Hello Natalie 😊
The only time I have heard of free trips for volunteers is when they are sponsored. ie you have to find sponsors and some of the money your sponsors provide is used to fincance your trip.
Things like sponsored cycles in India or wherever are popular in Ireland. The person wanting to do a sponsored cycle would join a group doing it and then get a card. They would then go around asking people to sponsor them. The sponsor would put their name on the card and the amount they are willing to give. If the person gets enough sponsorship, then they are allowed to go on the trip.

Welcome to TravelBlog.
Just check - some trips require you to pay all your own expenses as well as raising a minimum amount of funds. The amount is often comparable to paying the fee to use an organisation for a few years.
Where are you from/wanting to volunteer Natalie?
Reply to this I am from california but would like to volunteer in africa

Do you have any specific skills that an organisation in Africa would need? Bear in mind that places where you volunteer need volunteers because they can't afford to pay full time staff......
Reply to this What about Peace Corps or some scholarship programme like Fulbright? I don't know how these work, not being from the US, can anyone shed some light on it?
Reply to this I know there's an examination you have to pass before you can apply for Peace Corps, Fulbright I think is a pretty high level university scholarship.
Reply to this Fulbright fellowships are exceptionally competitive - you must be nominated by your university faculty in order to even be considered.
Volunteering for the Peace Corps is a great way to pursue international volunteerism for some US citizens -- I've heard mixed experiences from those I know who have done it. Most volunteers are college graduates with some particular skill/background that needed by particular communities. It's a 27 month commitment (2 years in the field, three months training) so not a decision one should take lightly.
