Hey guys, my name is Hailey and I'm one of the finalists. I have a website if you guys are interested to learn more about me, and there's a section there called Virtual Tour of the Reef for anyone thinking of visiting! Wish me luck!

Att: Moderators - this is Hailey's personal website, not a commercial one.

Usually posting links to personal websites would be considered to be self promotion, but I think on this thread an exception can be made for Hailey. I removed the post limit on Haileys account in case she is in the mood for telling us all about the Best Job Competition. 😊

Congratulations Hailey! 😊

I didn't even know about this. Wouldn't have applied though. Hamilton Island is WAY too hot for me. Stunning yes, but I found even three days there a bit much in Summer. Reply to this

BBC - finally a report that points out that this was all a wonderful piece of marketing 😊

The biggest winner, though, is Tourism Queensland, which reckons that for US$1m, it generated US$70m of global publicity.

I will be very jealous of who ever wins. We stayed on Hamilton Island in March, right behind Catseye beach. It was beautiful, I was very sad to leave! Reply to this

All the 16 candidates have landed for their selection process - Dream job finalists arrive on Hamilton Island.

Have a look at the photo gallery - one of the 'rigorous' tests involved eating that great Aussie culinary icon - Vegemite. Some of the expressions are priceless! Reply to this

And the winner is....

Ben from the UK!

He had an excellent video - and seemed to have very good organisational and promotional skills too.

Anyone who has a photo of themselves riding an ostrich as his profile pic certainly has something going for him!

Congratulations to Ben Southall and Queensland 😊

(Is this a sign that QT is hedging bets by choosing a candidate from the historically strongest tourism base?) Reply to this
