We would like to continue our travels and wonder if there is any way to earn money from a blog site to help finance a trip to other parts of India (we spent 4 months travelling around S India in early 2008); we are both 57 years old, I have MS so we are not in the 'gap year' group of travellers, but also not ready for pipe and slippers! We did not travel 1st class, sometimes we were way out of our comfort zone, and we wouldn't have missed those 4 months for the world....Any ideas anyone? We had very positive feedback from family and friends, some felt they were on the trip with us...have a look at www.mytb.org/truckinon (reflects the old hippy in us!) if you wish - your comments good or bad would be most welcome! Good luck with the thesis, keep us updated

I remember a discussion from a while ago entitled something like "share your blogging success stories", where people mentioned how their blogs had been found and who had published them. I think one of the successes - Travel Camel? - was writing about India at the time.

Much of it is down to good fortune - an editor or journalist searching for a term on the internet and the search throwing up your blog. So patience is a factor, but determine who your target audience might be and make some enquiries at the relevent newspapers/magazines/publishers.

The thread Mell mentions above was started by me, but as I have only had time to write about 400 words since last August the idea has been put on hold for now!
