My problem is I want to get so much in, in one year, I want to fly to India first, the time we are going is bad (weather wise) I have to be in Perth the start of December for a wedding so that is why I want to go end of July (to fit a little bit more in) but its monsoon season. Not sure how long to travel India (not as long as I would like) Not even sure where in India to travel yet, is it even possible to travel in August with the weather?

Then from there travel to Vietnam, Laos Bangkok...how possible is this, I have been on to trailfinders and they say I need to sacrifice something, can I find alternative transport, any one any idea what kind of cost the flight would be from India to Vietnam & Bangkok separeatly..

Then if it is possible to make our way over land thru Indonesia, Malaysia Bali and from there to Perth on the 1st December for a month and then on to Christchurch to work and travel till the last leg of the trip, South America,

Can anyone help with suggestions, ideas, web sites or travel agencies, the budget for this RWT is Euro2,500g's incl tax that is.

I would be so grateful for any ifo. Tanx B Reply to this

Hi B,
My name is Amit, from India. ( http://amitava.lahiri.tripod.com)

Dont get confused !! Its perfectly ok to come to India in July-August if you arent from deserts of Arizona !! It will probably rain at that time, but you can easily manage it ( Though i am not sure which part of the earth you belong), and its actually better to travel during that time than May-June, You wont be facing 50*c on road atleast !!!! Rain is fun, you will meet friendly happy people, less tourist, and more importantly..amazingly clean location ( Thanx to mother nature !!! )

You can Travel in North and South India easily during that time but better to avoid West and East India...Cost of flights from India to Bangkok etc would be around 275-300USD round trip. Land movement would be costlier( with so many restriction and paperwork involved + ferry + customs). And Vietnam at that time would be prettty wet...prepare with lots of medicines and antidotes...but would be beautiful with virgin sky and lakes all filled.

I dont have any idea about laos...Indonesia would be ok ( provided you get homeland security approval) and everything is fine there. Bali would be expensive as usual ( if u don wanna live in a shack @ 25USD )...but cool and calm.....

If anything more about india or SE Asia you need some ideas or info i would be glad to help you out. If you want you can mail me at amitava.lahiri@bis.co.in

take care
