Thanks, Selim! But did you mean for your link to lead to the TravelBlog front page? By definition everyone who sees it already knows about TravelBlog.

The address under the TravelBlog Formatting Codes (to the right of this thread) is just an example - if you want to post a link to another site, do so on the "Other Travel Sites" forum, with the website address inside the formatting.

When I traveled or 11 months last year I was well rested (usually), didn't have any stress about work/bills/meetings/deadlines, had the freedom to do whatever I wanted all day & every day, I saw beautiful nature, and had a lot of time to think/reflect. So...yeah, it was good for my mind. Reply to this

The most significant way in which travel altered my mindset for the better (in my opinion), is that I discovered just how simply I can live and still feel like I am gettting a lot out of life materially. Reply to this

Long-term travel is great for the mind -- it brings fresh ideas and strengthens the wit. However, it can often pose some serious problems post-trip...... wanderlust can become extremely distracting. :-)

I love traveling because I always come back with less cobwebs in my mind. It is as if I empty my mind of all clutter upon departure, and fill it with many happy memories upon arrival. I also like the idea that life is so focused on the present, and my senses are all playing to listen, feel , taste everything novel or not so new. The fact that I only have to choose from a limited wardrobe, or use the same pair of shoes throughout my holiday , or work and survive on a single budget make life so much simpler. Sure, you sometimes get a raw deal in a few trips, but the joys and simplicity of the present far outweigh the negatives. Oh, btw, I always end up gaining more friends after each trip. C'est la vie! For me, traveling is amazing for my mind. I'm a stress case in "normal life", worrying about insignificant things until I'm sick, but once I'm on the road, that stress melts away. My mind feels more clear and open, and receptive to everything around me. Overall I'm just a better person when I'm traveling - less shallow and judgemental, less materialistic (those desires for things I want but don't need disappear), and less focused on things that in the end, don't need to be focused on. It's an amazing time to reflect and grow as a person, and use each experience to push myself further, whether it be emotionally, mentally or physically. Traveling is my therapy! Reply to this

Travel is great for the mind, not only does it allow you to clear your head but you can learn so much from traveling by really immersing yourself into another country or culture. It allows you to grow and meet new people. Life Beyond Tourism promotes interpersonal awareness through travel.
