For all those who are over 30, 40, 50.... Do you feel less able physically or in any other way to take part in any aspect of travel than you did when you were younger?

Age... I'm afraid that just hasn't caught up with me yet. What I have to watch on a trip now is not due to age. lol I'm 47, and still haven't grown up yet. Though my friend is sure that my nomadic cravings are due to a mid-life crisis. But it runs in the family. My mother just got back from Mexico. She's 67. Her favorite habit is staying with her brother and his partner in a lot of out-of-the-way eco-lodges and open-air hotels. They do a lot of hiking. The couple that they traveled with this last time actually complained that the trip was just 'too primitive'. My grandfather is 90. He's going to be going out of state to visit relatives here soon. He'll have my daughter drop him off at the airport, and maybe a little assistance with the luggage. But I don't think that's because of his age - I think he's just spoiled. lol
When I'm out hiking or whatever, the only time that age seems to be an issue is if the younger crowd can't comprehend it, or if I'm being completely out-done by some one 20 years older. Then I start to wonder about myself, more than anything. lol Reply to this
