Things to do and place to stay in HongKong.

I plan on spending a couple of days in Hongkong on my way back from Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) in Nepal. Since I will be in HongKong for only three days, I am looking for expertise's advice as where to stay, visit and can't miss things/places.

In my brief research, it appears Tsim Sha Tshui appears to an idle place. btw, anyone familiar with Guangdong Guest House and what's their svc like?

I will be travelling solo; If there is anyone traveling around the same time ( Jan 07-10, 2009) and want to hang around together, pls let me know.

Hey sorry I don't know about the hostel. Tsim Sha Tsui is a good place to be if you want to experience that hyper-urban atmosphere of Hong Kong. Don't expect to find peace and quiet in TST.

A very "Hong Kong" experience would be the Kowloon street markets. They are not too touristy, but very fun to see, and the stuff for sale is very cheap. There are a whole bunch that are somewhat close to each other in Kowloon and very accessible by subway. Here's some info: http://www.citylifehk.com/citylife/eng/cover2_0308.jsp

Another thing you can't miss is eating, so try the street foods and dim sum...
