Does anyone know a quick way to send money to Africa?

We leave in less than a week for Africa. We are trying to get money to our guide (a family friend) and having some difficulty. A bank does not garauntee prompt delivery. Western Union will do it for $400 and a less than favourable exchange rate.

Dear Karl Julie,

Unfortunately I really don't think there is a quick way to send money to Nairobi. The safest is of course via a bank transfer, but you need bank accounts etc. The quickest if you leave in a week is to take it with you yourselves. The cash point machines work well in Nairobi, so you can get cash out with your creditcard (VISA for example) easily. Everything takes a long time in East Africa.....and these sort of things are not as easily done as at home. Ask the bank for a SWIFT transfer if they do it. Are you sending from the UK or USA? Good luck,Teresia Reply to this

Dear Karl, depends on where you are leaving from? I would recomend ramadmoney.com. check their website. I used them before and they are pretty fast enough. I sent money to my friend in nairobi and he got in less than an hour. just check them they have toll free number to call. good luck and let us know if it work for you. have safe trip
