I've been reading some of the bizarre reasons that countries deny tourist visas to people so I was wondering what other peoples experiences have been. Did you have any trouble if so what was the reason you were denied? Are you allowed to appeal the decision? I'm fron Canada so I hear that it shouldn't be too bad. I don't have a criminal record but I got chucked in the drunk tank once which is a misdomeaner and a small fine. Other countries might not see it that way tough. Could that affect my visa applications?

The most difficult and expensive one I had so far was the Iranian visa.
Around 10 years ago I gave up on getting a Russian visa because it was so difficult and complicated. I hear that things have got relatively easy since then. Maybe I will check it out again.
I have never been denied a visa. I think you can appeal if you are denied but I would just choose a differernt country instead. There are so many interesting countries to choose from and I would just skip the ones which deny me visas for now.
