- Clothes
- Sandals
- Hiking Boots
- Heavy Duty Trainers
- Flip Flops - avoid foot diseases.
- Poncho (later Lightweight Waterproof after loss of poncho. Looked like a fool in it anyway.)
- Leatherman (pocket multitool)
- Duct Tape
- Eletrical Insulation Tape
- String and Rope/Cord
- Elastic Bands... They were useful!
- Camera
- Guidebook
- Journal
- Pens and Paper/Notebooks
- Address Book
- Reading Books x2 (one to read - spare in case no gooduns to swap)
- Minidisc Player and Minidiscs. Oh how I wished I could've had an MP3 player in those days...
- First Aid Kit
- Wash Bag
- Travel Towel
- Beach Towel
- Sun Tan Lotion and Aftersun
- Documents (and duplicates of)
- Passport
- Fake Wallet
- Money Belt (incl. cards, money etc)
- Sunglasses
- Sleeping Bag and Liner(cotton - but go for silk)
I'll add some more later. I like this. It's kind of a challenge to remember what I took, and what I would leave behind next time.
Plus - all the 'fixing stuff' I took came in handy... Despite people mocking me all the way around the world.
