We left Mendoza on our favourite transport, the trusty bus!! We thought it would be a good idea to go to Rosario a riverside town on our way to Mar Del Plata. however when we go there we only managed to stay there for only 3 or 4 hours!!! It is a beautiful spot, but at the time there were absolutely no hostels/hotels available (unless we were willing to spend $100USD a night). It turned out to be an expensive place as we had to catch a taxi from the bus terminal to our "hostel" then after wandering about for a while trying to find more places to stay, we gave up and headed for the docks to catch a ferry across to Isla Invernada (an island just out of the city)......do you think we could ... read more

Okay, so we were in San Martin for 2 days, just to get our bearings on Aregentina and to decided where and what we wanted to do here. San Martin was very much a ski/winter town and was pretty dead at this time of year so it was nice to have some breathing space. The cities here are just so big and so busy that we get a bit overwhelmed at times. So all we did in San Martin was organise our travels for Argentina. We moved on to Mendoza which is a city of just over 1 million people. We arrived at 7am and just walked across the road to our hostel which was great cause we were knackered from our bus ride. The hostel was great and had a roof terrace which gave a ... read more

Here with my friends having a great time in this beautiful city, with too much european feeling and culture. To 350 kms to the south of Buenos Aires City. Beaches, discos, great nights, safe/clean place, nice and opened mind people, incredible....!!! I think it´s a better place for visiting than the northwest or northeast of Argentina. The south and the southernmost of this country can wonder you as real. ... read more

Got away from the city for my last week in Argentina. It's really off season so this little resort town (if you can call it that... it's a bit sleepy) is a GHOST TOWN, but it's quite what I wanted. I have a cabin, in the woods, 150 meters or so from the deserted beach. Weekenders still come but during the week I have been alone, except for the numerous stray dogs who try to follow me around. (Thank goodness I finally learned "Get!" in Spanish). My cabin is adorable and cozy and comes with all the conveniences a solitary girl might need... including high-speed internet. TV channels aren't great though and I have been getting my fill of Law & Order and House, plus a few really bad movies... While here, I've been sleeping a ... read more

Arrived on a bus from Buenos Aires 7.30pm new years eve to the big smile and open arms of Juancito Boludo Bastida THE MALLORCA MAESTRO. He immediately invites the four australian reps to a family asado(bbq) to kick the night off. Awaiting is a feast of traditional argy meat, salads, deserts, vino, cervezas and a whole lot of argentinian family hospitality that greets us all with a kiss and smile that immediately makes us feel at home. After gorging on the masses of meat, midnight hits, champagne flows and we move into the street to watch all the neighbourhood dads demonstrate to the small children how to set off a firework without hitting the close by houses. One dad was embarrassed a little as his failed to light a single one and grandma had to disgracefully ... read more

Hi everyone, Its a shame to say but another year has passed and im still living the dream!!! In a quaint little beach town called mar del plata, which for you dummards who dont speak two languages fluently like me is translated to sea of silver.... Hardly cause the sea here looks like toilet water from bubba-joes crapper in the d-block, but we have to make do with what we have RIGHT??? No its a great town just not what i expected, i was hoping for small little island town with sandy roads and dogs running around everywhere with crystal waters and well you get me, and got big city with more people in it than people that queue outside of Kazachstans only mcdonalds. So we have had a few great nights here and now its ... read more
