Begijnhofkerk - Church at the Ten Wijngaerde Béguinage (Begijnhof). Dedicated to Saint Elizabeth of Hungary. Rebuilding between 1604-1609 of an earlier 13th century church. The Rempart du Beguinage adjoins the Minnewater. Part of the Flemish Béguinages UNESCO World Heritage site. "The Church, dedicated to St. Elizabeth, was founded in 1245 and rebuilt in 1605; the altar-piece (Adoration of Christ on the Cross) is by the elder Van Oost, and there is an Assumption by T. Bruges

Our visit to Bruges was a day trip out from Brussels. The Globus tour bus let us off at the Bargeplein coach park. Unlike similar facilities to enable the touring of city centers, this one is in a very attractive park-like setting and within walking distance of the historic center.
