Altarpiece

Begijnhofkerk - Church at the Ten Wijngaerde Béguinage (Begijnhof). Alabaster altar frontal, late-Renaissance. The altar-piece "Adoration of Christ on the Cross" is by Jacob Van Oost the Elder. "The Church, dedicated to St. Elizabeth, was founded in 1245 and rebuilt in 1605; the altar-piece (Adoration of Christ on the Cross) is by the elder Van Oost, and there is an Assumption by T. Boeyermans in the S. aisle (1676)".--Baedeker 1910. DSC_1043

Bruges

Our visit to Bruges was a day trip out from Brussels. The Globus tour bus let us off at the Bargeplein coach park. Unlike similar facilities to enable the touring of city centers, this one is in a very attractive park-like setting and within walking distance of the historic center.
