Southstack Lighthouse

This stop was a bit of an aside. Bird located it during her research and what a gem of a visit. Rain was falling when we left Conwy, and during the stop at Beaumaris, but a bit before arriving at the lighthouse the sky lightened and even a spot of blue here and there. Above the lighthouse there was a wonderful cafe, complete with large windows to view the sea, where we took an excellent lunch. We then walked towards the lighthouse for this picture. Bird looked wistfully at the raging Irish sea and told me scenes such at this is why she misses the sailboat so much;).
Edward I's Castles

Made what Bird estimates to be our second longest drive yesterday (four hours in all including Costco) traveling from Stratford to Conwy in North Wales. Prime sights for us are medieval castles constructed by Edward I to subjugate the Welch, although there are other attractions, including a Roman Fort on the Irish Sea.
