We are on our 5th day at sea and I am beginning to feel that sadness you feel when you know your vacation is coming to an end. But I still have some time. We are nearing the Caribbean and will be in St Maarten tomorrow. We have been there before and love the island. We will go to Dawn Beach for most of the day. We have arranged for 'Happy Harry' to pick us up at the pier. He is a taxi driver we met 5 years ago and kept his card. We called him from Tucson and hopefully he will be waiting for us. If not, there will be plenty of taxis. Dawn beach is beautiful. I cannot wait to get in the water. I feel better today than yesterday, so I hope tomorrow ... read more

Today is our 4th day at sea and each day I feel a little better. Ken is one day ahead of me so he feels pretty good. We do our latte' routine out on the back deck. This morning we are all going to the dining room for breakfast. It is the same food you get on the buffet, but it is good to all be together at one table. After breakfast we relax on the serenity deck and read our books. It is a beautiful, sunny day, about 75-80 degrees. Every once in a while we go in the pool to cool off. It is salt water from the sea so it is a bit cool; but refreshing. Ken goes down the slide once. After feeling a bit hot, we go in for some lunch. ... read more

It is a beautiful sunny day at sea. The temp is in the high 70's and I feel horrible. I'm taking the medications but it will have to work it's way through. So far, Annie and Henna are still healthy. It seems to be lasting about 2 days, so I should feel better tomorrow. We lounge again, sometimes up on the serenity deck. We love to look over our balcony in to the ocean. The water is so blue. Sometimes we see little fish, the size of a bat, leap out of the water and glide over the top of the water, before diving in again. How can it be so enjoyable just watching the rolling waves and water. It is so beautiful. We saw everyone at breakfast, and then Larry and Henna at the Serenity ... read more

Today is a day at sea. Ken has caught the scratchy throat, congestion that is going around. I go to the infirmary to get him some cold medicine. I hope I don't get it. I use Clorox wipes to wipe everything down. We have a small breakfast with Larry and Henna and return to the room. I think we will read, sleep, watch movies, room service today. Not so bad of a day, right? Friday, November 7th continued...as the day wore on, I started feeling icky..scratchy throat, congestion. Ken suggested I go down to the infirmary to get some more Theraflu. I open the door and there are about 10 crew members waiting to see the nurse or doctor. I see my masseuse, Caity: not a good sign for me! I don't have to wait because ... read more

Today is a sea day; time to relax. We slept in, ate breakfast and then walked around the outside deck. Up and down stairs, around the track to get some exercise. Too much food and wine! We found a secluded deck (Serenity deck) and Ken, Annie, Bobbie and I relaxed there for a while. Spa music plays on this deck so it was very relaxing. Annie and I have an appointment at the Spa. We are having combination stone massage, foot massage and scalp massage, so we head for the rooms to take a shower. An hour later we meet up in the relaxation room after our treatments: it was heavenly. Annie's back has been hurting, so the massage helped a lot. We next went to a makeup seminar (still in our robes); It basically consisted ... read more

hey everyone. we made it out on the open ocean and now were heading into the intercoastal waterway. we stoped off in annapolis for a couple days. we had some engine problems. but dont worry were getting that all taken care of. although if anyone has a spare motor they would like to donate to us for our trip that would be very appreciated! were traveling in the chesapeake bay on our way to norfolk where the real intercoastal starts. we really underestamated the great atlantic ocean. we had a few waves come over the stern but everything is fine well brendan got a little wet and our little radio was sitting in a foot of water in the cockpit but other then that it was pretty fun. surfing down waves and having to really hold ... read more

QM2 10th - 16th October Comfortable spacious quiet cabin, lovely after the small noisy cabin we had on the QE2 Undertaking the traditional transatlantic crossing with no ports meant we had 6 days at sea to enjoy the ship, daily routine went something like this: - Fresh fruit, pancakes or French toast for breakfast - Walk around the deck three times (1.1 mile), sometimes spotting dolphins - Enjoying seeing the QE2 sail next to us, we felt privileged to undertake the tandem crossing with the QE2 on its last voyage to New York - Trivia - Lunch in the dining room or pub - Afternoon tea with the orchestra playing so we could waltz or fox trot after enjoying the delicious scones - Trivia - Dance lesson - Struggling to get the internet connection to work ... read more
