Hello folks Well, my world just might be a little bit brighter tomorrow as I am scheduled to move into a HOME! Yes, a real-live home. Non of this "Thai man running off with my money" business. *fingers, toes, T's, knees & eyes crossed* My day is slowly turning around as well. I can't believe I am not yawning like a wild one. I was up late last night preparing a short presentation for today and taught my last of the first four Thursday morning sessions at a local school. - the first of the end of the beginning of the last of the 12th of the next of the start of it all - Don't mind me. I guess I am tired ? I have been sitting here in the freezing computer lab since this ... read more

Before I launch into my latest tirade about my trip, here is a really cool link to a bunch of photos of me and our beloved Sydney Gang, courtesy of Casey adding them to my new Facebook account! check it out. My eyes.... something in my eyes... sniff ;) Good times - these are photos of us at Mardi Gras, having a sing song at the Opera House, and other random parties we created for ourselves from sticky-backed plastic and some pipe cleaners. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=730210507 I arrived in Adelaide, South Australia state, about two hours ago after 8 hours on the Indian Pacific from Broken Hill. The trip was visually stunning, which is about right because my batteries ran out when I got on board so I have no photos. I am staying 2 nights at the ... read more

... Melbourne is so funky - what more can I say... ... anywhere else and it would be called a dive! Where else do you know that you can put a sofa on the front lawn and it be considered funky and totally practical to chill out on the front step... Everyone drives really old bangers that you'd normally reserve for the dump... The worse you dress, the 'trendier' you are... All the bars and cafes have miss-matching furniture; plastic, wooden, paint falling off, old lamp shades, old tea pots for sugar pots... The longer the list of made-up coffees that are 'originally' Italian the trendier the cafe; vienna (black coffee with cream), affogato (black coffee with ice cream!), mugachino, babychino, chino... The old architectural features that would have been ripped out by home owners are ... read more

Not much new to report here… I officially have a home. I officially have a home Mar 14. Mar 14. ish. hahaha Yes, well, I handed over a month’s rent today as bond for my apartment. It comes furnished with most bills paid which sets my heart all a’flutter. Yippee! There is some decent temp-accom around here which will be no problem to call home once I leave the luxury of Pelham Court. My feet endured a day of the pavement today as I explored some more corners of the city all afternoon. I met up for lunch on posh Southbank with a Canadian in my program who just arrived Thursday. A few more people will be arriving in the next while which means that my days might very well be filled with things to do! ... read more

well I had a bit of a down day today. maybe it had something to do with not really having anything to do. I had a baby breakdown in the bank today... complete with copious amounts of nasal secretions. I think everything just came to a head - frustrations with the banking system, online crap, not really having my own life or niche yet, not wanting to feel like a leech. It is kind of a weird thing/feeling to have a friend from home here that welcomes me & shares everything - experiences, home, friends - but to not really have my own place yet in the scheme of things. A mini mid-transition crisis? Likely. I will say that it is definitely different from my first days in Cape Town. There, there was a schedule of ... read more
