So I have had multiple requests to put my pictures on a public website for non-facebook users to view. Finally my roommate Lizzie from LeMoyne (who is currently studying in Barcelona) tipped me off to this site! I am about a month into my journey and couldn't be happier. I have seen some pretty amazing things thus far, and really can't wait to see more. My first few days here were pretty tough. The jet lag was worse than I thought it was going to be. I departed LA at 11:50 pm on Friday February 13th (yikes!) and arrived at the Brisbane airport in Australia on Sunday February 15th around 7am. The flight wasn't too bad- however I only got a few hours of sleep in. The rest of the time was spent doing People Magazine ... read more

After getting our cash for 2 weeks work on the farm, we were out of there and excited to be headed for the coast. Chris and Ferdy (aka Munich Boys) had the day off so we borrowed a car and all drove down to the Gold Coast. We stopped at a beach just south of Surfers Paradise for our first Australia beach experience and boy was it ever glorious! The sand was bright white and very fine and the waves were pretty big for such a nice summer day. Despite only being a half hour drive from the farm, the coast is a lot milder. It's about 5 degrees cooler during the day and in the evening there's a nice breeze that comes off the water. We stayed at the beach playing in the waves for ... read more

So, the week kicked off with Della seeing her first "roo"! The day i decided to stay at the house! Something to with the Law of Sod me thinks! We had just had a torrential downpour and the sun was shining again when Della and Sue went out to the local shops - en route they saw not just one kangaroo at the roadside but a whole "herd" of them......how cool is that??!! Next time i'll be going to the shops! The weather is warmer with each day - Winter is almost over and Spring is just around the corner........well, that's what the weather man keeps telling us - seems like summer to us Northern Hemisphere gals!!! We have taken "Sally" (the miniature poodle we are looking after), to the beach every day and whilst on ... read more

July 25th marked our final day of classes/work before our much needed week of summer vacation. All day I was itching to get out, to get home and pack and then catch a bus to In Cheon International and get on with my trip! After school Mickey and I went home and got our selves and our stuff ready and around 10pm we headed downtown to the bus station to get tickets and leave. Unfortunately the first bus to In Cheon leaves at 1240am which meant that we had some waiting time! We sat in the terminal and watched some random Korean television and Mickey gave me a lesson on how to not only beat the levels on my DS game but how to find secrets...apparently I missed all of that stuff growing up! When the ... read more

Hi all Was meant to go on the Pacific Star but guess what?, it crashed so Mum, Sarah, Owen and I went to Mooloolaba. We stayed at the Mantra Mooloolaba Beach resort, It was very Wheelchair friendly, I didn't have it that time. We got a people mover and thank God for that as originally we were going to get a small car but once the guy at the Rentals saw us plus our luggage he knew a small car would not be enough!. The place was awesome and guess what?, it had a wet area shower...Neat. Mum and I slept in the room with the two single beds and Sarah and Owen got the double bed with an en suite, their bath was a spa, I would have loved one but could not because of ... read more

We have had a roller coaster week - not least cos we all went to Wet 'n' Wild for Fab's birthday. It is a great water park and we all went on most things - Fab was disappointed she couldnt go on the vertical surf board but I have to admit to being quite relieved myself! There was a small debate prior to launching ourselves down the black hole as Bendy and Fatty disappeared down the chute together and we discovered that there was a weight restriction but apparently that only made the ride quicker! Fab had a low point in the week as well as she had to have a filling in her tooth - at least she will be taking a piece of Australia back with her. At the beginning of the week we ... read more

Well this is the chance for you lot back in the UK to have a little laugh at our expense because for the past week the Queensland coast has been on the receiving end of the far reaches of a mini typhoon. It has been wet and windy nearly every day. So much so that at one point we cancelled all activities in order to build an ark! Anyway it really hasn't stopped us enjoying ourselves (what's a few spots of rain between sisters!). We have still hit the beach and as you can imagine the surf has really been up- the kids have enjoyed the boogy boards and once you are in the sea you are wet anyway (Yes I a putting a brave face on it!) On Sunday for Fiendish's Birthday we went north to ... read more

Hi - we had a Foam Party at the beach. The Mums got scared that we might go under the foam cos it went over our heads. Dad and I went in. I was the only Edge child to go in. The foam was quite deep and we jumped from foam free island into the foam. My cousin slipped over and all the foam rushed around him. It was great fun. I dont know why the others didnt come in. At the Zoo we fed the kangaroos and patted the koalas and we saw a massive snake called Millie who was about the size of a car. We watched a croc show at the Crocoseum where a man stood in a river with Crocs. We got free Kanagaroo food and we fed the kangaroos again. When ... read more

Hi Bloggers, I'm doing surfing. I was thefirst one standing up too. It was aweome. Having a nice time in Oz. Its very hot on some days butsome days it rains. I got sunburnt a couple of times but before we talk about that lets go back to surfing. When I was surfing the waves started to grow bigger and I fell off underneath. The group of people who did the surfing were children of Family 5 and the 'B' Team. While we were doing surfing some of us sat out but I carried on until the end. Later that day I got sunburnt and it was quite bad. The next day I couldnt walk propery because it was where I bend my legs. It was all crinkly and it hurt and wasnt very nice. Its ... read more
