This will be of no interest to most people except my Mum and my Sister!!!! The next day (mon 18th Feb) marked the end of our our first week on the road and we left Watson Bay in Sydney and headed to a place called East Hills which is a small suburb about 20km outside Sydney. I lived here as a child aged from 4 to 6 years of age in the mid 1960's when we emigrated as the ' ten pound poms' and lived in an immigrants hostel. Unfortunately we had returned home after 2 years but I still had some recollection of living in the hostel and East Hills and I wanted to see the place again 45 years later. We arrived mid morning and I immediately recognised the footbridge over the George River. ... read more

Also die Firma heißt Nationwide Freight Services. Irge ... read more

8:04AM, World Tower I’m writing this as I’m sitting in our little lookout room on the 62nd floor of our hotel room. It’s still foggy out, but there is a faint rainbow in the middle of the scene. The last few days have been hectic. Monday my flight left at 11:30AM, got in to LAX at 2PM, and I had to wait until 10PM to board my flight to Sydney. My carryon weighs, well, I don’t know the actual number; and I don’t want to know. I had to pack 12 days worth of stuff into it, covering both my orientation now and the pre-semester trip up to the Great Barrier Reef on Sunday. However, it turns out that my entire luggage is in my bedroom right now, so it was completely unnecessary to do that. ... read more

6:27PM, the hotel A dark omen is around room 6205. The situations are as follows: 1- room 6205 was given 3 keys. When we switched people around so my 2 roommates and I were together in this room, one of the original 6205 girls kept her key. We did not know this until now. My 2 roommates, Jackie and Gail, and I always keep our 2 keys at the front desk. Somehow, we “lost” a key. None of us know how this is possible after running through who had the key last. So we talked to the girls in the other room and sure enough, they had a key to our room the whole time. But we’re still short a key so we’re talking to the supervisor tomorrow morning. Please keep in mind that a lost ... read more

Narooma to Nowra The heat has finally gone and I've had to dig deep into the panniers to find all my warm clothes. The ride from Narooma to Nowra was uneventful, with the highway passing through a rolling countryside of farms and forests. I found a nice pie shop just north of Ulladula where I stopped for a morning snack and a break from riding. After that the sun came through the clouds occasionally, leaving me overheated for a while until the clouds returned and the temperature was lowered again. In Nowra I spotted the Kawasaki dealership and made a quick pitstop to have the chain checked and tightened. Nowra to Robertson I headed off down the Moss Vale road which is a very exciting stretch of hairpins and hills through the forest. About 1/2 way ... read more

Liverpool, Australia - January 28th - 9:00pm Today was, let’s just say…Interesting! I had an interview at 12:30am so I got up at 8:00ish to finish a few things up and then get on the train. I had to iron my shirt again, so I did that before I got carried away with other things. Good thing I did as I jumped on the internet to check my emails and chatted with a few friends from back home. I eventually got ready for my interview and made it there with time to spare. I had a little bit of a walk but I did manage to get there without dying from the heat. I figured I was 15 minutes early and it was better to sit in the office then sit outside in the heat. Luckily ... read more

I can't believe that the time had come for me to see my son Bobby again, and to meet his new girlfriend Toni, for the first time. As I stepped off the plane and got my luggage I looked around for Bobby as he was due to arrive about an hour earlier. I walked outside and immediately saw Toni, sitting on her luggage (I had seen photos of her). We introduced ourselves and I knew immediately that we were going to get along. We got a taxi to our respective hotels then met up for a coffee at Starbucks and caught up with all the latest gossip. Over the next few days Sharon and I did a lot of walking and sight seeing throughout Sydney, including the obvious Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Everything seemed reassuringly ... read more
