We have finally arrived in Canada. Carie had wished for snow and guess what she got it. Yesterday was the largest amount of snow in 2 yrs. The drive home from the airport was a little hairy but Wayne had the snow tyres on so we were fine but we did see a few people slipping and sliding all over the road. We stopped off at Tim Hortons for a hot chocolate on the way home. It was snowing so much I could resist throughing a few snow balls at the boys we all ended up with snow all over ourselves. We arrived home to meet Kayla who had the house all warmed up for us.the house was decorated so beautifully with christmas decorations everywhere. We sat and talked, drank egg nog, and laughed about fun ... read more

Well after flying for 24 hrs we arrived in Bali at the Ayana resort. Exhausted but finally here. This hotel is absolute luxury, while laying by the pool they delivered us cold botles of water and fruit to cool us down. It was great staying here as we did not have to join the long line to visit the Rock bar which is perched out on the side of the cliff but instead we got ushered down the express line. We all enjoyed the warmer weather as we sipped our cocktails and enjoyed the sunset. Not wanting to leave this resort we lazed around the pool to the very last minute until check out. Up very early the next morning for our 2 1/2 hour boat trip to the Gili Islands. Gili islands has no motorised ... read more

I am going to make this the short version as after spending an hour or more typing up the blog and choosing the photos the stupid thing crashed and I have to re do it.. Up early for a nice breakfast then off to Dubai Mall which is just across the road from our hotel. Although the mall was nice the shopping was not as good as we expected. Lorraine and I decided that Dubai is not a shopping destination although we did spend more than hour in Zara and both walked out with a bagful of purchases. Our first night was spent at Dubai marina where we enjoyed some local delicacies. The next day was not off to a good start with a visit to the doctors for vickie diagnosed with a middle ear infection. ... read more

Well after leaving home 24 hrs later we have finally arrived in Dubai. We were pleasantly surprised when we reached our first hotel that we had received an upgrade and we were given rooms with balconies with a magnificent view of the tallest building in the world the Burj Khalifa right in front of our eyes. The building is so tall we can't even fit the whole building in a photo. Today we have a day of leisure and plan to visit the The Dubai Mall.... read more

Hi all, Well our day started early with a 7am arrival at the airport. We left Sydney on the way to Cairns to surprise our Canadian friends as they thought we would be arriving the following day little did they know we would be waiting at the airport for them with our disguises. We arrived at Cairns domestic terminal and made our way across to the international terminal with our signs that John had made. When we arrived in the terminal we were the only ones but it soon filled up . We had hired a stretch limo to transfer us to our Cairns hotel so the driver held the sign with their name on it while we hid off to the side. It was an anxious wait as people started emerging from the arrivals door. ... read more

Hi everyone, Well after a lot of planning and a long time to wait and keep the surprise we are now here in Bali. We arrived and travelled 4hours to our little hotel in Tembok. We stayed in a pool side villa. It was very peaceful, they do not have TV, internet or even telephones in the room. As Wayan and Suzie were visiting their village for a ceremony we invited them to come and stay at the Poinciana Resort with us. They really enjoyed it, the girls thought they were princesses and swam in the pool all afternoon. We left for Seminyak and to meet the others. When we arrived at the villas I was still worried that John would some how find out about everyone coming over and the villa staff kept asking about ... read more

After arriving at our hotel I was disappointed to hear that Disneyland was closing early due to some Halloween Party so off we went to California Adventrue park just next door. It was so crowded we only got to go on a few rides before closing. Never mind we still have 4 days. The next day we took a tour of LA with our friend Ray. Our first stop was the famous tattoo shop from the show LA Ink - High Voltage unfortunately Kat Von De was not working that day but it was fun to have a look around and visit the tattoo art gallery next door. Then onto Rodeo Drive where we walked the promenade and took a few snaps. We didn't see anyone famous. Next was Manns Chinese Theatre - The walk of ... read more

NEW YORK Today we visited The Empire State Building, Times Square and Maddame Tussauds. We ascended to the 86th floor of the Empire State buidling for some beautiful views over Manhattan - then we walked through Times square onto Maddame Tussauds where everyone enjoyed having photos with the various celebrities. CENTRAL PARK After a long walk from the hotel just before we arrived at Cental Park we took up the offer of having a ride around Central Park on one of those bicycle rickshaws. We got to see a lot more than we would have if we had of walked. Central Park was very pretty where thousands of New Yorkers visit everyday. I think we take our back yards for granted as we saw many people sun baking and picnicing in the park as they do ... read more
